About one in 15 insured homes has a claim each year.*
Buying a home is an exciting milestone in life, which is why most homeowners want to make sure that they protect their investment. Homeowners insurance usually includes both damage to property and liability for damage that policyholders may cause to others. Policies may include four aspects of coverage, which are coverage of the structure of the home, coverage for personal belongings, liability coverage, and additional living expenses, including the costs of living away from your home if it is damaged. Homeowners insurance covers most natural disasters, with a few exceptions such as earthquakes and floods.
